SailGP: Spanish team confirms Season 2 lineup

The Spain SailGP Team has announced a lineup for Season 2 of the global high performance sailing league that includes four Tokyo 2021 Olympic campaigners, backed by experienced talent from the Volvo Ocean Race and Red Bull Youth’s America’s Cup.

New Zealander Phil Robertson will stand in as helmsman while Spaniard Jordi Xammar is on Olympic duty. Spain’s Nacra 17 Olympic representative Florian Trittel is the team’s wing trimmer, with Spanish Olympian Diego Botin as flight controller, and Antonio ‘Ñeti’ Cuervas-Mons, Mateu Barber, and Lucas Trittel as grinders.

The Spanish team will be coached through Season 2 by the highly regarded double Olympic medallist and around the world race and America’s Cup veteran Xabi Fernandez.
