Warm sunshine with excellent breeze made for great racing conditions for all three fleets on the fourth day of the 470 European Championship in Vilamoura, Portugal which saw both scheduled races completed on time.
In the Men’s fleet the French duo Kevin Peponnet and Jeremie Mion recorded a first and a fifth to climb up to first overall – one point ahead New Zealand’s Paul Snow-Hansen and Dan Willcox who have dropped to second after a third and an eighth today.
A second and an eleventh for 2019 world champions from Australia Mathew Belcher and Will Ryan sees them keep their third place, ahead of Sweden’s Anton Dahlberg and Fredrik Bergstrom in fourth, and the Spanish Jordi Xammar and Nicolas Rodriguez in fifth.
Nitai Hasson and Saar Tamir from Israel continue to lead the Mixed fleet albeit with a much narrower lead of just four points over the Germans Theres Dahnke and Matti Cipra, who chalked up two fourth places today. Brits Vita Heathcote and Ryan Orr remain in third – 21 points adrift of the Germans.
