America’s Cup: Coderus help INEOS Team UK to think fast

America’s Cup: Emirates Team New Zealand's time saving technology

High-level professional sport is all about making split-second critical decisions under pressure.

Nowhere is this more true than in the ultra-fast-paced world of the modern-day America’s Cup where the sailors on their high-flying boats need to be able to instantly interpret and act on information collated from a myriad of data sources – all literally on-the-fly.

No surprise then that the British America’s Cup challenger INEOS Team UK is continuing its partnership from the last edition of the Cup with technical software development specialists Coderus.

Coderus worked alongside engineers from the British America’s Cup challenger in the run up to the 35th America’s Cup, developing a tactical tablet app used onboard by tactician Giles Scott. The device provided fast and accurate tactical information to Scott enabling him to make informed tactical calls despite doing so often while working at maximum heart rate.

“It’s terrific to have Coderus back with us and working on the next iteration of our onboard tactical and sailing data solutions. They did a great job last time, and we know that their software expertise and support will give us a performance advantage.” Nick Holroyd, Technical Director INEOS TEAM UK.
